SAGE Eldercare in Summit Resource Guide now available

Are you an adult whose aging parent is declining in health and you need guidance on how to help them? Are you a senior who wants to remain in your home, but you require help with home safety and other services? Are you a member of an organization that includes seniors and would like to know what local resources are available to them in the community?

SAGE Eldercare provides programs and services within the community and acts as a resource for eldercare-related needs and has just published the 2014-15 (18th volume) Resource Guide. Copies are currently being circulated to local area senior centers, libraries, churches and synagogues, medical facilities and other outlets that serve older adults and their families.

“We are very excited about this edition of the Resource Guide,” stated Jessica Rosenzweig Gruber, executive director of SAGE Eldercare. “The guide is a valuable tool for many area caregivers. We especially want to thank the local organizations and businesses that have advertised in our guide this year and in the past.”

The Resource Guide is a free reference guide that describes available services and offers advice for older adults wishing to remain independent in their own homes and provides information for caregivers and family members who often don’t know where to turn for help. The guide is distributed in Union, Essex, Morris and Somerset Counties.

Individuals interested in receiving a free copy should stop by SAGE Eldercare, 290 Broad St., Summit or call 908-273-5550. Directors of organizations or businesses who think their members might benefit from the guide may also contact SAGE to obtain guides for distribution.

The organization provides a wide array of information, support, and services designed to help people lead the most independent and active lives possible.
