Armada Care Homes’ sole focus is to improve the quality of life for each of their residents. Many times couples are not able to live together due to one of the spouses having an illness. Their new home at Glencove is specially designed to allow couples to remain together when one is afflicted with an illness or physical challenge and the other is not. Through their entry process, Armada Care Homes determine how they can make a potential resident feel at home! Food preferences, specialized care needs and preferred activities are some of the important topics discussed. At Armada Care Homes, it’s all about the resident!

When you walk into their new home, the first things you will notice are the luxurious surroundings and the delicious aromas coming from the kitchen! Their friendly staff immediately tries to make visitors comfortable or perhaps even persuade them to join in on some arts and crafts projects, or a game of horseshoes or a game of canasta. They have it all, including a small indoor putting green so visitors can practice in cool comfort.

Armada Care Homes’ family room is a great place to relax and watch sports or a movie while snacking on homemade goodies from the kitchen. The activity room can be a quiet place into which to escape and visit quietly with family and friends, or to play cards and other games! And using their virtual reality system, a resident can take a balloon ride or swim with dolphins from the comfort of an easy chair in the home and it feels just like they are there!

At Armada Care Homes, the focus is all about what makes residents happy! When one occupant was expressing his regret in never having experienced a flight with the Blue Angels, the Armada team immediately started to find a way for him achieve his dream. At ninety-five years of age, Gordon could never be able to physically fly with the Blue Angels, the community purchased a new Oculus Rift which is a virtual reality system that allowed Gordon to experience a flight with the Blue Angels while in the comfort of his home via virtual reality! The smile on his face was priceless and now he is always thinking of other things he would like to do! Another resident, aged ninety-one, wanted to go on a white water rafting trip and yet one more, aged ninety-two, wanted to tour London and see the changing of the guards which they have now done – thanks to our state-of-the-art virtual reality system.

Armada provides in-house doctors, nurses, therapists as well as a pharmacy, podiatry services and a beauty salon! How wonderful to have everyone come to you and not have to worry about transportation for every appointment! Of course it’s always great to get out and do some shopping or attend an antique car show so that is made available to the residents, too.

Don’t worry, be happy! Residents and their loved-ones never have to worry about medication management at Armada Care Homes. Our team makes sure that all prescriptions are filled and are administered as directed by the physician. And when it comes time for a special outing for lunch, or going away for the weekend with family or friends, the Armada Care Homes staff makes sure everything needed is prepared and ready for the resident.

And, after a fun filled day, it’s time to rest and rejuvenate! Residents can enjoy the privacy of their spacious bedrooms with a separate sitting area and cable TV. Even shared rooms are extra large and every room has it’s own bathroom and roll-in shower! Everyone can sleep tight knowing the Armada family is always there no matter the time, whether day or night!
