A Desert Flower For Your Loved One

Are you looking for a community in Scottsdale where you or a beloved senior can reside without worrying about another move down the road?

We urge you to take a look at Desert Flower, a small apartment-style community designed for seniors looking for assisted living services that evolve as their needs change.

Small Community with Highly Tailored Assistive Living and Senior Care Services

Desert Flower is smaller than most assistive living communities in the Scottsdale area. Keeping it small lets us create services and activities that meet individual needs.

Our goal is to provide support as it is needed, when it is needed.

Like all assistive living services, we offer the full range of activities for daily living (ADLs) such as showering/bathing, dressing, toileting, and medication management. Each resident is interviewed and assessed for services he or she needs. We conduct periodic reassessments since these often change, even within a year.

Three licensed practical nurses (LPNs) are onsite six days a week during business hours. We always have an LPN on call 24/7.

All residents also enjoy light housekeeping and laundry services. We can arrange additional services as well.

All-day dining is a central feature here. Our residents eat on their schedules. If you like to sleep in, our dining room will serve you breakfast when you want it. If you like late-night snacks, no problem: weÕll prepare one you can take to your apartment to nosh on while watching the late news or catching up on Netflix.

Desert Flower activities are therapeutic and focused on maintaining physical and mental health. They are community-oriented to encourage participation. For example:

  • We offer a popular horticulture therapy program in our lovely interior courtyard. Residents grow flowers and vegetables; some of the produce reappears in food prepared for parties and barbecues.

  • A facilitated MenÕs Group provides important camaraderie, particularly for new residents.

  • Weekly card gamesÑpoker, canasta, ginÑare popular for both men and women.

  • We offer classes through Artsy Smartsy that focus on specific arts including painting, photography, ceramics, and writing.

  • A certified Live 2B Healthy Senior Fitness trainer is onsite three times per week to lead customized fitness programs.

We work closely with SantŽ of North Scottsdale to coordinate physical and rehabilitation services for residents after a medical event or surgery.

Great Location in an Established Scottsdale Neighborhood

Desert Flower has an ideal location, just off the beaten path to many of Scottsdale's best-loved shopping and dining establishments. Our neighborhood is north of Shea Boulevard, where tranquility settles in!

Our shuttle bus service includes regular stops at local shopping centers, nearby libraries, and other entertainment spots. We can also provide transportation to appointments with your doctor, dentist, therapy, and other outside services.

We are a few blocks from HonorHealthÕs (formerly Scottsdale Healthcare) Shea hospital campus.

    Transition Services from Assisted Living

We understand that as needs change, itÕs a comfort to stay in one place.

We provide memory care services and apartments for residents who are ready to transfer from assistive living. We accept new memory care residents as well.

We also offer directed care, including hospice care, to residents in their apartments.

Apartment Living To Suit Your Needs

Desert FlowerÕs renovation will unveil 89 apartments designed for assisted living residents, and 19 for those requiring memory care.

There are a number of floor plans to choose from, ranging from studios to two-bedrooms for assistive living and studio and companion apartments for memory care. Some apartments have courtyard views or balconies.
