Symphony At The Waterways: Assisted Living in World-Class Luxury!

Imagine receiving assisted living you or a loved one needs in a setting most people associate with luxury vacations spots like Aspen or Palm Springs. Now you can, at Fort Lauderdale’s Symphony At The Waterways, where independent and assisted living and memory care are delivered with care and skill in one of the most sumptuous settings the city has to offer.

Resort Living With Standard and Enhanced Assisted Living Services

Symphony At The Waterways is an extraordinary assisted living community and just might be the most well-appointed one in the nation.

Located in an eight-floor tower overseeing the Intracoastal Highway in Fort Lauderdale, our 130 residents enjoy spa services, health care, and the full complement of enhanced Activities of Daily Living (ADLs). This additional service requires special licensure from the State of Florida to deliver highly skilled services for residents who have catheter, ostomy, oxygen, and other medical requirements. And of course, we deliver the full range of standard ADLs such as help with bathing, dressing, grooming, walking, and toileting.

The following services are included with the monthly fee for all residents (assisted living, enhanced assisted living, memory care, and independent living):

    >li>Truly fine eighth-floor dining room with breathtaking panoramic views of the city, featuring three menus each day planned and supervised by a world-class chef
  • Eighth-floor Sky Lounge with full bar

  • Onsite concierge who arranges everything from dinner reservations to car services to tee times at the Coral Ridge Country Club

  • Library and media/computer center

  • Lifelong Learning education programs run by Nova University

  • Fitness center with gym equipment and classes that include tai chi (excellent for improving balance), yoga, meditation, and a range of exercise classes

  • Beautifully maintained outdoor gardens and patios with Waterway and city views

  • Movie theater

  • Game rooms for bingo, bridge, and cards

  • Entertainment excursions to sports, museums, theater, dining and shopping; we can often negotiate reduced prices to many venues

  • Housekeeping and laundry services

Our meal service is a particular point of excellence. Our chef takes advantage of the fine local seafood and produce to create unique daily menus. Residents are encouraged to offer suggestions, and those that make it to the menu get the credit! We have all-day (7 am to 7 pm) dining; residents who like to eat earlier or later can order their meal to for pick-up or delivery to their apartments. We also feature an extensive “always available” menu.

Everyone should have easy access to a full-service salon/barber shop, so we made space for a privately-run onsite salon that offers the full “menu” of haircuts, styling, facials, hot shaves, massage, manicures and pedicures for an additional fee. It’s a warm-hearted, wonderful place to relish occasional (or regular!) pampering.

Onsite Medical and Therapeutic Services for Assisted Living and Memory Care

Symphony At The Waterways understands the residents and their families want to know they have prompt access to medical care. We start by keeping a Licensed Practical Nurse onsite 24/7 in addition to our licensed caregivers. We have a six-to-one resident/staff ratio.

We have contracted with local healthcare and medical providers who focus on care for seniors, starting with on-call physicians who deliver primary, specialty, and therapeutic care. We can provide nursing care from eight to 24 hours per day.

Residents can continue to see their own physicians, and we will provide transportation to them, or they can take advantage of onsite primary care physicians, podiatrist, psychologist, and hearing and speech therapists. We contract with a cognitive skills specialist who helps strengthen memory skills in our Memory Training Center. Genesis Rehab Services operates an onsite physical therapy room. We provide transportation to dentists and can arrange these services as well.

We are also licensed to deliver hospice services for post-surgical and end of life care and can accept residents who need hospice.

Our memory care residents reside and eat in a secure area where they receive many of the same services and assistance as assisted living residents. We welcome residents with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.

Our memory care services follows the highly regarded In the Moment® program that emphasizes flexibility. We understand residents can best appreciate living “in the moment” and encourage their positive memories and experiences. We focus on their physical, social, and spiritual well being to help them engage with the community around them as much as they can. We guide them to activities they enjoy and give them space to express their emotions while minimizing discomfort.

Fully Accessible Apartments With Wheel-In Showers

All apartments here are fully accessible for current and potential future needs and include wheel-in showers with seats.

We offer studio, efficiency, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments. Each apartment has a private bathroom, and some two-bedroom apartments have two. All apartments include a bedside and bathroom emergency call system. Residents are also provided with GPS pendants so that emergency calls can be traced to their location.

Apartments have efficiency kitchens or full-size ones in larger units. We are happy to welcome pets (with proper vaccinations) and we can arrange their care in the event an owner becomes unable to do so.

Residents are encourage to bring their own furniture and decorations and we gladly help them make their new space their very own. We also encourage families to stay involved with their loved ones at this truly unique community. Friday happy hours are particularly popular with residents, families, and friends.

We hope to see you soon. Make an appointment today to visit Symphony at the Waterways! Call us (754) 208-1232
