Family Owned and Locally Operated

If you’re looking for assisted living or memory care that has a distinctly personal touch, The Summit at Sunland Springs in Mesa is your choice. Locally owned by Farnsworth Development, our family oriented community provides excellent care and beautiful ambiance.

The focus of The Summit is kindness. We hire kind, experienced and qualified people to provide our residents the compassionate, quality care they deserve.

The Farnsworth Family has been serving seniors in the east valley since 1958. The Summit began providing memory care in January 2013. Our assisted living opened in June 2017. Everything in our beautiful community is state of the art and designed to meet resident and family needs.

Family and Child Friendly

Because we know how important family is, our community is designed to encourage and welcome visitors of all ages. Our goal is to make all family members feel at home each time they visit their loved ones at The Summit. We encourage family involvement for community events, meals, volunteering, or simply visiting loved ones. Children are a big part of life here. They can be found at Noah’s Place, our kid fun zone! We even encourage our team members to bring their children to work, much to the delight of our residents.

Activities and Entertainment

Providing meaningful interactions and stimulating activities is a daily goal at The Summit. We offer several classes and activities, with art class as our most popular. Other favorites include bible study, card games, gardening club, and bingo. We have billiards for pool sharks and a state of the art movie theater that screens movies every evening. Events include birthday parties, live entertainers, and seasonal parties. We welcome suggestions from residents and family members, and we encourage residents to join the activities planning committee. Off site shopping trips and outings are a part of our regular schedule.

Health and Well Being

Staying physically fit and regaining strength after a medical setback is important at The Summit. We partner with Advanced Healthcare to provide our residents with onsite therapy from clinically trained therapists. Additionally, Advanced Healthcare leads morning fitness classes with our residents five days a week.

The Summit has an onsite health clinic for residents to receive medical care from mobile physicians, and we provide nursing oversight 7 days a week. We customize each resident’s care plan to fit individual needs and we provide transportation for off-site medical appointments as needed.

Meals and Snacks

Each of our assisted living apartments has a kitchenette (full kitchen in select models), including a full-size refrigerator, sink, garbage disposal and microwave. Our base rate includes breakfast plus either lunch or dinner daily in the main dining room. Residents that have a personal care plan in place are provided 3 meals a day. We also have a bistro cafe that offers sandwiches, snacks, smoothies, espresso, and other treats for sale.

The jewel in our culinary crown is Executive Chef Rob Engel’s living salad bar. In our aeroponic garden we grow 12 different types of organic lettuce and 6-8 organic herbs. We use no soil or pesticides and everything is packed with nutritious, wholesome goodness. Our dining program showcases delicious, made from scratch meals that can easily be customized to meet dietary needs.

The Best in Memory Care

The Summit has outstanding memory care where our holistic approach ensures that each resident has a level of care that integrates the personal history of the individual. Each one of our memory care residents is treated with special attention to their specific needs based on who they are and what they need in this stage of life. The beautiful, home-like setting provides a comfortable, safe environment with private and shared rooms available. Each room has a full, private bathroom. We provide ongoing dementia care training to our team that focuses on gentle approach and purposeful engagements.

We encourage you to make an appointment to come in and see what The Summit at Sunland Springs has to offer you and your loved ones. We’re sure you will find a new home here that will suit your needs and exceed your expectations.
